Meet Julia Antuzzi, LCSW

Hi! I’m Julia, a licensed psychotherapist in NYC, focused on supporting adults in the pursuit of living a life that feels balanced and aligned. My approach is based on collaborative and compassionate work, shaped by the idea that we are all uniquely human with our own individual experiences.

The core of my work is rooted in the relationship between therapist and client. This relationship allows us to sit in the discomfort of the complexity of life. Sitting in this discomfort with another person, is the true power of therapy.

My practice name, Cala Luna references one of my favorite places in the world - Sardinia, Italy. Cala Luna is a reminder that through darkness comes light, that accessing the most beautiful parts of ourselves can require taking the time to sit with the more challenging parts as well.

The Process

The therapeutic process starts with you sharing your unique experiences, which we’ll use to guide us in the collaborative approach to help foster personal growth, healing, and alignment.

While opening yourself up to being vulnerable can seem intimidating, my experience has shown me how rewarding the therapeutic process can be.

While I utilize an integrative approach, I pull from various modalities, including Psychodynamic, Internal Family Systems, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Somatic Experiencing, and practice from an anti-diet, weight-inclusive lens.

More On My Work with Clients

I currently provide in-person and virtual individual psychotherapy for adults over the age of 18. I support adults navigating anxiety, life transitions, trauma, body image stress, disordered eating, relationship and identity exploration, and more.

Many of my clients are struggling with changes happening around them or simply want to feel more aligned on a day-to-day basis. Some clients describe feeling like they’re holding their breath, trying to keep it together, but underneath it all, longing for relief and the chance to just be themselves. Some clients identify as deep thinkers and deep feelers; this might not always mean feeling connected to your emotions, but simply feeling them deeply when you do. There is so much power in being able to sit in those emotions and learn more about them, to learn more about yourself.

My work with clients includes deep curiosity surrounding each client’s inner world as they interact with their environment.
